A word
     is like an old synagogue
           or a tourist site
           or a park bench.
           You see it
           you may even use it
           but without a tour guide,
           an old resident
           to tell you the story
           of how it has existed
           who used it
           how it was used
           how many layers of paint have been
           added
           what designs and colors
